The ACMG Foundation’s E3 Genomics Pathways Program invites students, trainees, ACMG members and others interested in genetics and genomics careers to attend 2026 Equip Webinar Series Session 5: Genetic Counseling: Communication, Ethics, and Patient Care on Thursday, September 24, from 4:00–5:00 PM ET.
Featured speaker Jessica Giordano, MS, CGC, is an ABGC board-certified genetic counselor and Assistant Professor of Genetic Counseling in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. With nearly two decades of experience in reproductive genetic counseling, her career spans patient care, genomic research, education and the integration of emerging genetic technologies into clinical practice.
During the webinar, Giordano will share insights into the role of genetic counselors in helping patients and families understand complex genetic information and make informed decisions. She will also discuss her professional journey and provide guidance for students interested in exploring genetic counseling as a career.
The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A, allowing participants to ask questions about genetic counseling, education and training, patient care, research, and career preparation.
